The Department of Interior Design took our Second Year Students on an exclusive, immersive visit to the prestigious Kochi-Muziris Biennale on on March 13, 2026. This transformative outing exposed them to groundbreaking art installations, sustainable design trends, and global creative influences, directly igniting their interior design journeys. The Biennale profoundly influenced our students by challenging them to rethink spaces through sustainable lenses-biodegradable materials and zero-waste concepts inspired eco-conscious room layouts that prioritize planet-friendly functionality. Interactive installations blending light, texture, and form shifted their approach to multifunctional designs, encouraging bold experimentation with sensory experiences in homes and public spaces. Global cultural fusions broadened their creative palettes, pushing them to infuse diverse narratives into residential, commercial, and experiential interiors, while on-site discussions honed their ability to sketch visionary concepts on the spot. Our students soaked up sustainable showstoppers, from biodegradable materials and zero-waste innovations to eco-friendly spatial solutions that redefine modern interiors. They explored interactive art spaces blending light, texture, and form, gaining hands-on inspiration for multifunctional room designs that tell powerful stories. Global fusion vibes from diverse cultures fueled bold ideas for residential, commercial, and public projects, while group discussions translated Biennale magic into portfolio-ready concepts. At Yeldo Mar Baselios College, we're passionate about experiential learning that bridges classroom theory with real-world creativity, preparing tomorrow's interior design leaders to transform spaces and lives. We enhance our students' sketches, photos, and exclusive reveals from this epic adventure!
