Yeldo Mar Baselios College successfully organized an Orientation Programme titled "Freshers' Guide to a Responsible, Drug-Free College Life" for the first-year students of BA Multimedia, BA Interior Design, and B.Sc. Fashion Designing. The programme was held on 21 July 2026 in the Tagore Theatre, marking an important beginning to the academic journey of the new batch. The event was designed to welcome the freshers and to help them transition into college life with awareness, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility. The session featured Mr. Ajesh K. P., Kerala Police Janamaithri Trainer (EKSAT), as the resource person. He shared valuable insights on the harmful effects of drug use, the importance of prevention, and the role of youth in building a socially responsible future. His session highlighted practical strategies for resisting peer pressure, maintaining self-discipline, and seeking support when needed. The talk was informative, engaging, and well received by the students. The orientation aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of maintaining a safe, disciplined, and drug-free campus environment. As students stepped into a new phase of learning and personal growth, the programme offered timely guidance on making informed choices, building healthy peer relationships, and contributing positively to the college community. The session reflected the institution's commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also responsible citizenship and holistic development. Through this orientation, the college emphasized the significance of awareness, accountability, and community-minded behaviour in student life. The programme also served as a reminder that a strong educational environment is built not only through classroom learning but also through values, safety, and mutual support. The interaction encouraged students to begin their college life with a clear understanding of the responsibilities that come with it and the importance of staying focused on their personal and academic goals. The programme concluded on a positive note, leaving the first-year students inspired and better prepared for the journey ahead. Yeldo Mar Baselios College extends its best wishes to the freshers as they embark on their studies, with the hope that they will grow into confident, responsible, and socially conscious individuals who contribute meaningfully to the campus and beyond.
