Rainbow Ties Await: Transform Fabrics into Art!

The Department of Fashion Design at Yeldo Mar Baselios College is thrilled to conduct an exclusive workshop tailored exclusively for our first-year students on March 16, 2026.This hands-on session invited them to dive deep into the world of traditional fabric manipulation techniques while sparking innovative designs that push creative boundaries. The session discovered time-honored methods like Leh Ariya (with its rippling wave patterns), Sunray (radiating bursts of color), Shibori (intricate folds for organic designs), Mar beling (swirling stone-like effects), and alongside classics like tie-dye and batik- all reimagined through a modern, sustainable lens. Under the guidance of expert faculties, students learnt insider tips on color theory, fabric selection, and sustainable practices to elevate their fashion creations. From conceptualizing bold patterns to executing flawless finishes, this workshop equipped them with practical skills that blend heritage craftsmanship with contemporary innovation. Students walk away with professionally dyed T-shirts, dupattas, and samples showcasing Leh Ariya, Shibori, and more-ready for portfolios and sales. They gained expert feedback, sustainable dyeing expertise, and networking connections that land internships and freelance gigs. This session elevated their skills, portfolios, and expertise them to launch a vibrant fashion career!
