A New Beginning for New Minds - First-Year Induction Programme, Class of 2026

Yeldo Mar Baselios College warmly welcomed the Class of 2026 to an exciting new chapter in creativity, learning, and professional growth. On July 6, 2026, our Seminar Hall came alive with the energy and promise of incoming students as we held the First Chapter: First-Year Induction Programme for the BA Animation & Graphic Design and BA Animation & Visual Effects cohorts. The event continued an important YMBC tradition of introducing new students to the college's academic ethos, creative culture, and community values. The programme opened with a warm welcome from Mr. Amal Chandran, IQAC Coordinator and HoD of Languages, who delivered the official welcome address. Mr. Amal extended heartfelt greetings to the Class of 2026 and acknowledged the trust placed in YMBC by students and their families. He outlined the college's vision for a holistic education that blends technical excellence with creative inquiry, ethical practice, and industry readiness. Felicitation was offered by Ms. Anandu Sudheer, who commended the students' decision to pursue studies in animation, graphic design, and visual effects and extended best wishes for their academic journey. A melodious performance by Mr. Falah Ali added lyrical warmth to the proceedings. The carefully chosen song provided a reflective and uplifting moment, allowing students and guests to pause and absorb the significance of beginning a new academic journey. The musical interlude celebrated the harmony between artistic expression and academic pursuit and reinforced the cultural richness that forms part of life at YMBC. Mr. Pramod Sankar, Head of the Department of Animation and Graphics, formally introduced the faculty team. Each faculty member was briefly presented with their areas of specialization, research interests, and avenues for student mentorship and collaboration, giving new students a clear sense of the support and expertise available to them. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Robin, who expressed gratitude to the guests, faculty, staff, students, and parents for their presence and support. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts that made the induction programme a success and invited everyone to actively participate in the coming academic year. The First-Year Induction Programme left a positive impression on the Class of 2026 and their parents. Students expressed enthusiasm for the curriculum, faculty expertise, and extracurricular opportunities, while parents appreciated the college's supportive environment, focus on employability, and commitment to nurturing creative talents. The event set an encouraging tone for the year ahead as YMBC looks forward to guiding these new minds through an inspiring and professionally enriching education.
