Empower Her, Elevate Us All: International Women's Day Celebration at Yeldo Mar Baselios College

The Women's Cell at Yeldo Mar Baselios College proudly hosted a vibrant International Women's Day Celebration themed "Women's Rights and Empowerment" held on March 9, 2026 at Tagore Theatre. The program was expertly coordinated by Ms. Jinu Baby, Women's Cell Coordinator. This event brought together students, faculty, and staff for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to fostering resilience, equality, and self-reliance among women. We were honored to welcome Dr. Jisha Mary C. V., a distinguished Homeo Physician and Consultant Psychologist, as our esteemed resource person. Dr. Jisha's expertise in mental health, holistic wellness, and psychological counseling made her the perfect voice to champion women's empowerment in today's world. The session kicked off with an energetic warm-up activity, designed to break the ice and set a positive tone. Dr. Jisha then dove into a highly interactive discussion on self-reliance, mental health, and physical well-being. Drawing from her vast experience, she shared practical strategies for building inner strength, managing stress, and achieving balance in personal and professional lives. Her approachable style encouraged active participation, turning the event into a collaborative dialogue where attendees explored real-world challenges and triumphs. Adding a touch of joy to the proceedings, Dr. Jisha captivated the audience with her melodious songs, blending entertainment with empowerment. These musical interludes not only lightened the mood but also underscored the therapeutic power of self-expression and creativity. The session culminated in an open doubt-clearing segment, where students posed thoughtful questions on topics ranging from emotional resilience to navigating societal expectations. Dr. Jisha addressed each query with empathy and insight, providing actionable advice tailored to the young women's aspirations. In response, students eagerly shared their personal reflections and takeaways. Many highlighted how the session inspired them to prioritize mental health, embrace self-reliance, and advocate for gender equality. Feedback poured in, with participants describing the event as "transformative" and "empowering," reinforcing the theme that uplifting women strengthens us all. This celebration aligns with Yeldo Mar Baselios College's commitment to holistic education and where women's leadership drives innovation. The Women's Cell extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jisha Mary C. V. for her invaluable contribution, and to all participants for making the day unforgettable.
