    Future Interiors Lab: Al + VR Pathways Ignite Tomorrow's Designs!

    The Department of Interior Design at Yeldo Mar Baselios College organised an exclusive workshop for third-year B.Sc. Interior Design students, as "Career Pathways in Al + VR Design", on Friday, 5th March 2026, at our campus. This powerhouse session unveiled show artificial intelligence and virtual reality are reshaping the interiors landscape, empowering our students to pioneer sustainable, immersive spaces. Guided by Ashwini Sreekumar, Senior Project Manager at Techmaghi, dive into cutting-edge applications-from Al-driven generative tools like Mid journey for rapid concept ideation and parametric modeling with Grasshopper, to VR prototyping in Unity and Oculus for real-time walkthroughs of spatial dynamics, lighting simulations, and material optimizations. Ashwini's expertise, honed through 8+ years leading global projects in smart hospitality and biophilic designs, promises actionable insights drawn from industry case studies. The workshop featured hands-on sessions on Al fundamentals for interiors, VR mastery for collaborative prototyping, and a dedicated career mapping module highlighting roles such as VR Experience Designer, Al Spatial Analyst, and Metaverse Architect. Students tackled live group challenges, earn a Yeldo Mar Baselios College digital certification, and gain exclusive access to Techmaghi's resource library-equipping them with portfolio-ready skills amid rising industry demands .
