    Plant Today, Breathe Tomorrow!

    Yeldo Mar Baselios College marked World Environment Day with a successful Nakshatravanam planting drive, "Plant a Tree, Grow a Future," on 5 June 2026 at 10:30 AM on the college campus. We were honoured to welcome Chev. Prof. Baby M. Varghese, Chairman of MAMS & YMBC, and Mr. Vishnu Raj, Vigilance Forest Range Officer, Kothamangalam, who delivered inspiring addresses highlighting the importance of biodiversity and community stewardship. The Nakshatravanam was planted with native and culturally significant tree species associated with the nakshatra tradition; each sapling was tagged with its botanical name and care instructions to create a living classroom that will support pollinators, enhance campus green cover, and build climate resilience. Faculty, students, and Nature Club volunteers, participated in the ceremony and subsequent care briefing, while the college accepted donations to support sapling procurement and long-term maintenance. YMBC has committed to ongoing stewardship through a student-led care roster, Nature Club coordination, and campus maintenance thus together we seeded a future and grew green with the Nakshatravanam.
